Merry Christmas everybody! 
It's been quite a while since I last drawn a digital portrait. Mainly because I was too busy with my work or I wasn't inspired enough to draw a portrait. Some times around the month of October, I set another theme. Previously I focused my portrait art on model and celebrity. So this time I planned to draw an ordinary person - preferably someone whom I know.
At first it was difficult to determine who will be my reference model until I thought of one friend who has a profile photo on social media which somewhat caught my attention. This photo got into my attention because it gave me calm and serenity feeling hence the title of the artwork. The overall composition of this photo gives us the feeling that we are in a quiet, peaceful place with chilling breeze. That is why the photo is among the best to suit my artwork theme for this round.
Although the photo is seems easy to draw, it poses some challenges in between. Each time before I start draw a photo, I must first figure out which parts of the face is the most stand out - the one that makes the overall person looked beautiful. In this case, there are 3 parts - the hair, eye and lips. Therefore these 3 parts I tend to put the most efforts so it turns out to be as good as the original photo.
After I got all these parts right, it leaves one most important thing - the color composition of overall photo. If you noticed, the photo has been filtered with Instagram-like filter. While it is as simple as "upload the photo on Instagram and use their filter", I still prefer to adjust the colour via photoshop filter. Although it is not easy, it's still fun to play around. At times you might learn or figure a new trick in the process (this how I learn my photoshop).
